Dealing With a Delaware Speeding Ticket

If you’re given a Delaware speeding ticket, you have a number of options. First, you can voluntarily pay the ticket, admitting guilt. If this is your first offense, you take a defensive driving class, and pay your ticket on time, you won’t get points on your license for a Delaware speeding ticket of under 15 miles per hour over the limit. Directions for paying your Delaware citation will be noted on the ticket. You can pay by phone, by mail, by fax, or even in person.

If you disagree with the Delaware speeding ticket you can also choose to dispute the ticket. Do enter a plea of not guilty, check the appropriate box on your ticket, sign it, and mail it in. Your case will then be moved to traffic court, and you may wish to hire a lawyer at this point. You’ll then have a court date in front of a judge, and you’ll have a chance to plead your case.
