Drugs and Driving
Delaware DUI laws don’t just cover drinking alcohol. You can also be
charged with a DUI if your driving skills were hampered due to drugs.
The lines here aren’t as clear as with alcohol, but you can be arrested
for driving under the influence of any kind of drug – illegal or legal.
Illegal drugs, of course, come attached with possession charges, but
medications (prescription or over the counter) can also result in a DUI
charge. Before you use any drugs, make sure you ask your doctor about
driving and follow all instructions and restrictions.
