Course Content and Requirements
In Delaware, an initial defensive driving class will take a minimum
of six hours. Refresher courses take a minimum of three hours. What
will you learn in the course? Topics include:
- Delaware traffic laws
- Signals and road signs
- Driving in different conditions
- Alcohol/drugs and driving
- Overcoming road rage
- Licensing laws
- Vehicle maintenance
You’ll also be able to ask questions, as well as learn, through the
experiences of others, why the rules of the road are so important. At
the end of the course, there is a test you must pass to be certified as
having completed the class. If you don’t pass on your first try
however, you can retake the test. Your Delaware defensive driving
instructor will go over everything you need to know to pass the test;
there will be no surprises.
